can you really just swap? It's that easy?
No, usually not. You'd probably have to talk to the program directors, apply for a hardship waiver through the NRMP (not an easy thing to do), and pray that none of this is a match violation. It probably wouldn't hurt to try, although if it backfires, that might be a very awkward year that you have to spend in a program that you tried to bail out of.
