Anyone want to switch maryland interview date with me?

I was scheduled for maryland interview on November 18th, but I can't make it because I have a major exam on that day. If there is anybody who have scheduled their date in December or later and would like to switch with me, please pm me.

From what I know, if you're interviewed prior to December 1st, you have a higher chance of getting in. So if there's someone out there whose first choice is Maryland, switching dates with me might be to your advantage 🙂

Sigh . The secretory told me they're booked solid from now till end of interviews, it's either show up or cancel the interview.

I don't know, i'm doing real crappy this semester as it is and if i had to miss that exam, good chance i might not even get a "C". BTW, professor won't let me change the exam date .

Tell your prof that they suck. Isn't the point of education to help you better yourself? Not being *somewhat* flexible sure doesn't help further that.

Tough situation. Is the class important? Meaning, if it isn't a pre-req, than I'd just go to the interview and let the grade stand as it is.

If it's a pre-req, then you need to weigh how much you want to attend MD, and what you believe your odds are of gaining acceptance following the interview.

Thats rediculous! Go talk to professor. He is human too. Tell
him the difficulty. I am taking my mid term on Wednesday eve
and goint to travel on Thursday. Most profs are considerate and
mine allowed me to take exam a day earlier than rest.

Your prof is a dick if he doesn't let you change the exam date and retake it. You're interviewing for dental school!

I had to reschedule a Biochemistry exam, and an Advanced Neuro exam. Both professors were cool with it, and were actually happy that I was applying to dental school. They let me retake the exam whenever I wanted to.

If the prof doesn't comply, take it to the dean. I also say go to the interview. It's something that affects your career status, and there are no other dates open. So, the school can't expect you to take the exam.

As far as doing well on the exam, just study extra hard on the plane ride there and back (rather than sleep).

One way to approach, which some profs are more willing to do, is if you ask to take the test ahead of time rather than after. This shows you are not being slack and putting fourth effort in the class in addition to having the interview.

Are you guys seeing this????? If what your saying is true, then anybody who has applied to Maryland after approximately the 2nd or 3rd week in October has no chance to get in because there are no open interviews?? Is this normal?

Maybe im missing something, but that would be incredible if that were true. And if other schools are the same way it may be the end of the days when people could apply really late and still be able to gain admission.

It's true, Maryland said they're booked all the way through, which is through like the end of february when they stopped interviewing. This kinda suprised me a little bit too. Lesson in this: Apply early!

I think the reason the professor won't let me change the exam date is that the lowest of 4 exam gets dropped. I already missed one because I couldn't make it back on-time from the last interview. sigh...

Oh well, still gettin' no pms. I'll call back Maryland tommorrow and try again. If not, I'll "W" (withdraw) the course.

I had to withdraw from one class already due to inflexible exam scheduling. Sucks, but that's the way things go.

You might consider going over the professor's head to the department chair. It won't win you his/her friendship, but does that really matter at this point?

the same at UNC, their last scheduled interview is 1/10.

So sad that I cant arrange a flight in time to switch with you.

So is UNC not interviewing anymore applicants? Do they already have enough people that they can grant acceptances to??? Is this with like Case Western where they will still interview but for an alternate list or are they really not granting anymore interviews to be scedualed after 1/10??
