Im feeling completely bummed out. I only applied to the texas schools, but got interviews at every single one. I got an interview 5 days after applying to Houston, but I did not get a single acceptance.

My stats are sGPA 3.91 tGPA 3.87
DAT TS: 23 AA: 23, I even scored a 28 on ochem

I have over 300 volunteer hours at a community dental clinic, fairly well networked at one of the schools and of course I thought my interviews went really well.

I am really shocked and wondering if anyone else experienced this commonality and what thoughts maybe.

Everything's still settling down in Texas. A lot of people have multiple offers and will be deciding which Texas school they want to go too. Seats are going to open up, I guarantee you. Houston is also usually late filling up their class. Don't worry about it, you will get in somewhere. If I had to make a bet on someone making it, it would be you 👍

gawd damn nice stats.

you didnt get any rejection either tho rit.

just hang in there, chances are very good u'll get in at least somewhere

Do you have any red flags on your application? Criminal history/cheating/DUI/etc.

Did you go to a decent school?

Are you sure your interviews went well and look okay? Nothing odd with body behavior, stuttering, jittery hands, etc.

There's a million and one reasons you could possibly have not gotten an acceptance. Try to replay everything in your head and see if you did anything wrong. Because your numbers are great. But we don't know your history or anything else about you.

I wouldnt worry too much just yet. I was lucky enough to get in Dec. 1, but my cousin who's a D3 and my sister a D2 were both first waitlisted and then accepted in Feb. despite them having better stats than me. So I know you'll be ok! 😀

Yea im pretty much in a similar boat I had 3 interviews so far: NYU UMDNJ and Stony brook. Pretty much waitlisted to all of them. I have 2 more interviews comming up at Buffalo, and Maryland.

My stats are 3.6 sci gpa 3.55 regular gpa and 23 aa 24 ts. and 3.68 BCP. I have nothing less than an A- in the past 2 years pretty much.

What do you guys think about this?

You have me beat stat wise.
Did you apply late?

If that's not the case then I have you beat in LOR/PS/Interview skills 🙄

I'm not that familiar with Texas schools, but I heard from a friend that they really look for people who will stick around afterwards to practice (so they look for people with families in Texas, who has texas ties, etc) Did you ever say that you wanted to leave the state after dental school and practice elsewhere?

my app was submited around 8/19 and supplementals were sent around the first week of september. I thought my interviews went well overall. I may have had a questionable LOR but at this point I had 3 interviews and 2 more comming up. Is that a little late?

Im a white male which may have something to do with it.

I know what you mean. I got an interview from Houston 5 days after applying too and thought it went really well. My interviewer was being really nice, asked a lot about me, and we talked about fun stuff. I have a 4.0 gpa with a bio major, 22AA, 24TS, and 29PAT. I didn't get anything from Houston yet which is upsetting. I did get accepted to the other schools however so that's great. Hang in there man. Life happens.

3.9 Gpa, 3.9 sci, 23 AA, 22 TS, three pre dec interviews and only a wait list at Uconn.

Felt my interviews were going well, but who knows?

Ugh well I guess that makes me feel a little better. Perhaps next cycle I should work on extra curricular, manual dexterity and volunteerism?
