Anyone work for Costco? How are the benefits? (medical, dental, 401k, etc.) What are the working conditions? Computer system? Customers? This goes for pharmacists, techs, and interns.

i've posted about it before- its really good. Customers will be different everywhere obviously. Check out the search function, i've talked about it on multiple threads

I can't imagine costco customers are in any hurry... more like

"here's my script.. I'll be back in 30 minutes or an hour after I load up on $300 worth of crap and a $1799 LCD TV"

Well, being that one doesn't need a Costco membership to use the pharmacy, maybe that's not true about not being in a hurry.

yeah but you can still go get a hot dog while you wait.

Only someone insane would fight the traffic and parking hassels of Costco to get their scripts filled there...

I used to go there when I was po' and didn't have a membership - they have some of the best cash prices around.

You can pass the greeters if you tell them you're going to the pharmacy.

Never really understood why they even ask for it upon entry...if you have to show the card to pay. Checking receipt at exit, I can understand.

I don't go often anyways....would take me 11 years to use up the quantity of dish washer detergent and toilet paper they sell packaged. Only thing I go for is water, and their Starbucks gift cards. You can buy 5 x $20 cards for $80 bucks. 😀

Thats actually one of the more annoying things about working there...think about it...what type of patients are usually in a huge hurry to pick up large quantities of rather expensive drugs with no insurance?

...need a hint?

They want to see it at the door so that some ***** who's never heard of Costco doesn't waltz in, fill up his cart with stuff, and wait in line for 20 mins only to find out that he can't even buy it because you have to be a member. 🙂

Every pharmacist I know who's worked for Costco had positive things to say about it. If you can get your foot in the door, I'd say go for it. They have great pay (even the boxers make min $11/hr) and they have one of the highest employee satisfaction ratings around. Great company, and I'm sure that goes for the pharmacy as well.

We get both. Patients who will drop off their script, you will tell them 20 mins, and they say they'll be back in an hour. On the other hand we get a good number of idiots who do all their shopping, then drop off their script, you tell them 20 mins and they bitch that they've already been there for an hour.

You'd be surprised how few of people i can actually sell on the $1.50 quarter pound hotdogs...
