I scored at the 99th percentile and I "auditioned" for Kaplan as well; I decided against the position because I make ample money tutoring privately and the program was very disorganized (at least, at the Chapel Hill office). The key thing is that they grade you on a 5-minute presentation that you give to the site coordinator and then they ask you questions about your teaching rubric.
The guy who ran the site at Chapel Hill was, without question, one of the most disorganized people that I have ever met. He stumbled over his words, refused to make eye contact, etc. I thought ... How the HECK did you get to this position (He was an instructor as well) with your horrible social skills? Furthermore, after refusing the position, I received e-mails from the company about logging in my hours. I was thinking ... Thank GOD I didn't pursue this option.
It may be beneficial for some people, but I was informed that PCAT tutors aren't in extremely high demand so I didn't want to hinder my private business (you can't tutor privately if you tutor for Kaplan) by tutoring for a disorganized company.
