Hi guys!I was wondering which questions banks to choose : I have already purchased USMLERx and I plan on completing it until December, and then I was thinking of buying USMLEWorld. I intend to take the test in May, but I haven't got all that time for studying for the USMLE only, since I attend my regular medical class at the same time as well (I am a non-US European student). Do you think that these should do?Any alternatives?

World is the most popular on SDN, Kaplan's qbank is the most popular nationally in the US (and has the most questions). Don't know much about Rx, but user-wise, it is a distant third. I would probably go with world. It looks more like the real test program, has decent explanations, and it is very reasonably priced. If I were to do a second one (and I did), I would pick Kaplan's qbank.

Have You Heard Of USMLE Bubba?

This is a 350 pound rehabilitated former felon, who turned to the USMLE instead of Jesus during his 12 year stint in a Colorado federal pententiary. You pay him $3,400 and he comes and lives w/ you for 5 weeks. He is constantly asking you questions from the minute you wake up to the minute you go to sleep. If you get them right, he pats you on the back and grunts. If you get them wrong.....well you know what happens.

I went up 20 points from my first practice test, but of course was sore as hell for about 6 months afterwards.

After living with my mum for a while, I think Bubba would start thinking about turning to Jesus a lot more seriously...😛

So how much do your mom's services cost?

just trying to see which USMLE coach is better :hello::laugh:

I haven't understood very well how the NBME question bank is organized. There are 4 different ''tests'' ? Is it an ''all or none'' purchase? I am asking so I can decide when it would be a good time to buy it.

USMLERx is definitely newer. I'd love to know what anyone thinks of it. I was one of the med students who helped write the questions a few years ago. We really tried to make them as applicable as possible to the exam, just want to know if we succeeded at all. Our (a couple of friends and myself) hope was to have some questions that required more thought and less rote memorization.

I used Kaplan Q-bank, since our school recommended it, but have heard good things about USMLE-World as well. Good luck!
