😀

I realized that too after I posted it...

Won't even start to post what I thought of first

I've got a related question, do you people who have interviewed think it would be ok to crack a joke or two during your interview? For example by answering a question first sarcastically and then saying "but seriously..." I was thinking about how I would reply to the question "What would you do if you didn't get in to med school?" That question is screaming for a sarcastic initial reply.

The only joking I would do is joking thatt can't possibly be interpreted the wrong way.

People have difference senses of humor, as you know, and some don't have any. They might think you are trying to butter them up.

The safest thing to do is to abstain, IMO.

I find that the times I actually make a joke (that is, put effort into being funny) I end up looking stupid.

First of all, know thyself. If you're funny, only make a joke if it is FUNNY WITHOUT EFFORT or humorous AND extremely clever/quick witted.

If you don't know what I am talking about above and/or wonder "gee, am I funny?" FOR GOD'S SAKE, leave the yuks to us professionals.
