Hello everyone. This question is for those who are currently studying for Step I or have already taken it. I am an MS0. Now while most of you will groan about me thinking about Step I even slightly, I am just looking at you guys for your wisdom through med school experience and to get a heads up.

Is there anything you wish you had done differently throughout MS1 and MS2 to help prepare you for Step 1? Any pointers and suggestions you could give a green MS0 like me to minimize the the pain of the test? What do you wish you had done differently?

Thanks for your feedback.

master normal medical physiology and this will make your life easier come 2nd year and step1. mostly, every subject is related to this in some form or another.

definitely KNOW physio and path

do questions daily/weekly and improve my test taking strategies.

take better condensed notes so that when i study for the step, its stuff thats already in my own writing

I echo this. Costanzo phys, the big one, is the greatest.

But I think the most important is building a good work ethic. I think the place where many students go wrong is that they just give up to easily. I am currently still working on this myself.. sometimes I wish I went to the military before I went to medical school .

Oh yes and read everything you can get your hands on!

i wish i had read the USMLE exam experiences on this forum at the very beginning of MS2.
