Hey-

I just got an email from my dean saying I'm AOA eligible.....but NOT elected. Basically there is a stringent process for election, and I don't really think I make the cut. (top 25% of class eligible/top 15% make the cut). They say who makes the cuts in about 3 weeks.

two ?'s....

-1- Will AOA eligibility (NOT ELECTION) help my application?

-2- I already sent out my CAF/app. What do I do to indicate to programs I'm AOA eligible?

BTW from private unranked US allo school, if that matters.

thanx

and a related question....when you update your AOA status on your CAF, are programs automatically notified of it?

tks.

Yes, this is exactly what I did: when you change your AOA status on your profile, an UPDATED version of your profile is automatically uploaded to the ERAS postoffice...the programs then, on their own time, will download it. All of my applied to programs now have my updated profile...that's it.

invitro,

Not sure if AOA eligible status "helps" one's app, but it certainly can't hurt. Right now, I'd consider emailing your programs and letting them know that you are eligible for AOA and that you will know your final status in a few weeks.
