...would it be appropriate to fax each program an update notifying them of AOA status?

Seems as though waiting for the official AOA letter, and then distributing it through SF Match, might take more than a little while - particularly this year....

I would send it to each program myself...

I just called a few programs and was told that I can just forward the email that I received from my Dean's Office about AOA directly to the residency coordinator. That'll be a lot faster than waiting to mail that official letter...

I ended up just sending thirty faxes out to programs. I had other grades/publications to update them on, as well, anyway.
