Hi all:

For various reasons I was not going to take the boards, but new development has gotten me interested in the boards. I need to get the aobnp boards, even though my upcoming fellowship is going to be AGCME.

(Ie I wil graduate from AOA resdiency and going into a AGCME fellowship.)

Need some information here. I looked at the http://www.aobnp.org/ site and can't find any info on the aobnp exam.

Is there a separate site for the sign up for the aobnp boards?

When is it given? Did I miss it this year? Did anyone take it?

The aobnp site is really deficient, bare in content.

Thx for any help. . . I did a search in the forum here and didnt find the answers. I guess I have to call aobnp next week.

Thx! If u can shed any light, pls help. Thx! Any help I'd thanked in advance! Thx!

Unfortunately the AOBNP boards are only offered once a year in one location. The website for who to contact is http://www.acn-aconp.webs.com/BoardExams/ She will send you a packet with forms to fill out and checks to send.

The written exam is in March at the annual spring meeting: http://www.acn-aconp.webs.com/UpcomingConferences/ (Unfortunately they haven't listed the March 2015 date/location yet but I think it rotates between Savannah, Miami and Scottsdale.) The oral exam is in September in NJ I believe.

Eek...still have an oral boards portion to AOBNP?

Regardless, in Psychiatry, I highly recommend everyone get at least boarded in general psychiatry. So many jobs will take board elligble, but have continued employment contingent on eventual certification. You'll have the most time to prepare while in residency, so why not study July and August and get it out of the way?
