Anyone know where the blood goes when it goes into the pericardium, as in between what layers of the pericardium?? Does it actually go inside the pericardial cavity [so it has to break thru the adventitia of aorta and visceral layer of pericardium?] Anyone know? Thanks

Have no idea what layer it goes into...whats important is that it leads to pericardial tamponade and a quick death.....scary

It can go anywhere, practically. An aortic dissection won't go through the adventitia, because that would just be an aortic rupture. A dissection is just that: a dissection in between layers.

A dissection can lead to a rupture though.
