So I used AP bio credit to get out of both semesters of intro bio lecture in college (I still took the labs). However, I have found that several of my schools (Dartmouth, Tufts, Cornell, Brown, SLU, Rochester, and GW) explicitly state that they don't accept AP bio credit unless you have proven that you know the material by taking higher level biology courses. The problem is that I was a biomedical engineering student, so while I did take many courses that I would consider high-level "biology," I'm concerned about whether or not schools will take them because they are from the BME department rather than BIOL department.

Some of them include: Physiology I and II, Cell and molecular biology, biomaterials, biomechanics, quantitative biological reasoning, and nanomedicine.

Should I call all of these schools and check? Or am I just being paranoid about the small distinction of the department? Thanks!
