hey just wondering if many schools accepted AP credits from high school as part of pre req classes. or is it more of a school by school basis? because i have looked on websites and it often times doesn't say anything

In general you should assume they won't be accepted but some schools might. Are you still in high school?

no not in high school. just recently applied to pt school. I have taken one semester of chem with lab and assumed that I would need to take one more to fulfill the pre req, but a couple of the schools i applied to marked that my chemistry requirement was completed. the only other chemistry class on my transcript was the AP chem i took. so i will be contacting those schools to double check!

It depends on the school. From what I've seen, it seems often like core classes like Biology and Chemistry wouldn't be accepted as AP credit, but a class like English would. But you need to check with the schools because they differ.

You should contact the schools directly. But I got accepted to the University of North Georgia this year and I had AP credit for Bio 1 and 2 and Chem 1 and 2. They looked at my upper level classes like biochem, o-chem, etc. and since I did well in them they said they were fine with me having AP credit.

Definitely school by school. Some schools will accept AP credit if it's on your transcript, others will only accept it for certain courses, and others will only accept a 4 or 5, even if you had credit for a 3. Always email and check so you're not caught out.

True, there are some schools that will substitute an upper division class for a lower division one but you will probably have to specifically call and ask them about doing that when they go to calculate your pre-req GPA (specific to their program).

Yeah I agree that every school is different. That's why I said to contact each school directly. But they didn't use my upper levels to calculate my pre-req GPA. They just calculated it without those classes.
