I'm familiar with the general prereqs for most med schools - biology w/ lab, chem w/lab, organic w/lab, physics w/lab and so on.

I've received AP Biology credit from high school. I used this to get out of biology lab for 2 quarters (I did take fall quarter lab- reason i dropped because it was too repetitive and exactly like hs. bio), however, i did take the lecture portion.

Will schools take AP credit like this or will I have to supplement labs with future courses? I'm a biology major so It won't be a problem as I'm taking Cell, Genetics, and Physiology this year. I'm also doing undergraduate research which will count as a lab course.

Also, does it look bad if I only take the lecture portion but fail to take the lab? I've received an "Advanced Standing" on my transcript.

Many medical schools accept AP credits for biology (NYU, Downstate, U of Miami etc..). However, those that do not will accept any advanced biology class with labs ex: Anatomy & Physiology I & II, Microbiology etc..

Most medical schools post there AP pol.icies online.
