I got in at Temple! I live in Oregon and am having a difficult time finding good web pages with apartment listings. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also, if anyone lives there, can you suggest a safe apartment? Thanks

Temple Dental school is right on the Broad (also known as 14th street) street subway line. You do not want to live near the school, but you do want to live near the subway line to get to and from school. Driving is an option, but parking is insane in Philly.

Best place to live, but the most expensive: Center City (north of South Street; east of the Schuylkill River; south of Fairmount Ave)

Next best place to live: University City (west of Schuylkill River; east of 45th street).

Check the following website for a map of Philadelphia: http://map.mapnetwork.com/destination/philadelphia/

Good luck at Temple.

Center city is a lot of fun, but the majority of your classmates will be living in the roxborough/manayunk area. Specifically at summit on the park. I would avoid university city because the commute will be a headache. If you plan on socializing with ur classmates then manayunk/roxborough is the area you want to live. If you don't really care then center city is a good option. People tend to carpool to cut down on the cost of parking for the first two years.
