So do any of the other matched 4th years feel total apathy right now or is it just me? I mean, I was peeling an orange today and half-way through I had to convince myself that it was worth the effort. 😛

I am pretty much watching as much HGTV as possible, exercising, and spending time with my husband. The closest I get to anything medical is Grey's Anatomy and South Park on television. I have not stepped foot in a hospital now for over 2 months. If it were me peeling the orange I probably would of taken a nibble before committing the effort to peel the orange.

I hear that. I am watching movies non-stop, painting the house, and ridding the house of all books I no longer need. Then again, I can barely get up before 8:30 in the morning most days, and I am not even motivated enough to exercise!

And you guys aren't even on a rotation.

Imagine how apathetic you'd be with a rotation right now (particularly one in a field that you are not going into). That is where I am now.

Wake up at noon... maybe. Eat oatmeal, and do my daily dose of surfing the web for about 2 hours. Meet a friend, and workout at about 1500. Grill at 1630, wait for sporting event starting at 1900 (typically basketball). After all this, I go home, and light up the playstation to get my mandatory 3 -8 hours of the new game "Black."
Q24, prn til July 1.
btw, I finished my last rotation Feb 14 😀 .

I would of tried to convince the orange to peel itself... at most. 😉

I love being matched at my #1 😍

It's never worth the effort to peel an orange. Haven't done it in months - stick to orange juice. I have a hard enough time peeling a banana. 😳

I am so envious of you guys right now!!

Hoping and praying I'll be in the same situation 3 years from now (it seems so long 🙂 )

I hear you - I'm matched to my #1, but am doing an AI in a totally other field... Ugh. I have the flu, and asked them to write me a script for Tamiflu - they said "no" so I told them not to expect me back until my fever goes down. blergh.

Imagine what a joy it is being the attending on these rotations right now! 🙄
You guys don't even care if I'm giving you a sh***y eval anymore! :meanie:

I've got 2 more 2-week rotations to get through before graduation. Just started #1 today Pulm/CC at the VA. Secretary was expecting us but the attending and fellow looked at us like we had 3 heads each. Spent the day doing the VA shuffle (8:30a-2p doing paperwork, fingerprinting, photos, etc., even though both of us doing this rotation have been at the VA twice in the last year) and went home early. Only 2 patients in the unit right now (why they need a team of 6 is kind of unclear) so I think it'll be a chill 2 weeks.

Two weeks off then a real clerkship to finish off the year...ER. Good times. Tough to get motivated but I'll probably rally.
