I might be too late posting this, but I just found out myself. If you are applying for the match this year, you need to register for the NRMP. Not sure what the deadline is exactly, but it is $50 to register and I think the price goes up to $100 if you don't register before Dec. 1 (I realize it is already technically Dec. 1 right now, but just in case this somehow saves someone $50...). I registered months back but I just heard about this from a classmate (on facebook, no less...). Apologies if this is incorrect or inconsequential at this point. Best of luck to all!

Also, apparently it is $30 per program you rank when the time comes, so start saving your money.... 😱

yea, you have to register for the match on top of applying. However the fee covers the first 20 primary program rankings as well supplemental rank list for the prelim programs. If you feel the need to rank more than 20 programs then there's an extra fee per program.

Ah, that is good to know... I was under the impression that it was $30 a program from the start...

funny when i logged in it said that i paid the NRMP fee but i really don't remember paying it. the only thing i do remember is trying to log in like a few months ago and the website telling me that I was too early. that's kind of weird...
