I have a question about when you fill out the pharmcas app and it asks for your major for each school you attended. I changed my major to pre-nursing about 6 months ago when I thought I might want to do that instead, but then I decided to just go for pharmacy but I haven't changed it at my school yet and the transcript has already been sent to pharmcas. Do I need to put my major on pharmcas as prenursing or can I put prepharm? I don't want there to be a hold on my app because of this. I also don't know what I would tell the adcom if I get an interview.

What the heck is "pre-nursing?" Nursing is a 3 or 4 year degree, in some cases two years. I would look at a "pre-nursing" program as one filled with bonehead math, basic English, and coursework suitable for a high school vocational program.

You might be better off calling it Nursing.

if you are not in the program at my school they put you down as pre-nursing and the nursing program is 2 years.

Does that actually show up on your transcript though? At my school, telling the school you are pre-professional just means that you get e-mails regarding the profession but it doesn't impact the transcript. Like I keep telling my parents who annoy me with they're "what the hell is is biochemistry going to do?" questions, there is no such thing as a pre-pharmacy major and a pre-pharmacy degree.

I don't know if it ctually shows up or not. LoL thats funny about your parents 🙂. So I guess I will call my school tomorrow and ask them. Right now I have it on pharmcas as prepharm and I want to submit but judt wanted to clarify that.

Does anyone know how you are suppose to enter course repeats in PharmCAS? Do you enter the GRADE you got the first time or select REPEAT, and then under classification leave as N/A or REPEATED? Then for the 2nd time taking the course enter grade and choose REPEATED under classification?

Another thing, what is considered Microbiology? - I know microbiology does:laugh: but what about virology, bacteriology, etc?

Thanks🙂

I list the first failed course as any other course and I list the other course with the repeated designation.

As for your second question, if there isn't another more suitable option, microbiology works.
