Just got put on hold today at Case, they want me to retake my DAT, my PAT score is holding me back. Well, at least it wasn't a rejection, I guess that means they are interested in me.

Stats 3.75 GPA

19/20/16 DAT

Had a 23 in bio and RC, bummer I gotta retake it for the PAT. Hopefully I'll get some interviews at other schools in the meantime.

retake soon if you are interested in going to case....biggest thing with them is getting your app in early and interviewing early

what was your pat score? was it the 16? or the 19?

I can't retake until October, the 16 was the PAT score.

i pray to god no school asks me to retake the DAT. i pushed all of the useless knowledge into my head over the period of 2 months and once i was done with the test, it was gone like a fart in the wind.

did they email you for the retake notice?

I had an 18 on PAT and they wanted me to retake it. I was on the alternate list previously and their director told me not to retake it! I guess 19 is the new standard with PAT?

i'm in the same situation with case...my DAT avg are pretty much 18s and i have very good GPA and everything else. this was my first response from schools so its kind of discouraging..my question really is what to do. i was signed up for a class this semester (i'm working full time in a research lab) and i don't know if retaking the test in oct or nov. is enough time for me to get interviews..and that's given that i improve as the schools desire. i'm assuming the "hold" status doesn't mean that if you do indeed get improved scores in nov, that you have an increased shot of getting an interview compared to others. should i just wait and see about other schools before scheduling a retake?

Well, I emailed the director of admissions to explain my situation, as I was worried that a retake so far into the cycle would mess up my chances for this year. This is what he told me, "we have changed our
methodology of filling our class. We have significantly lengthened the
process to the point that we are still conducting "primary" class interviews
well into the spring of each application cycle. Therefore, a re-take of the
DAT even late into the fall will not hamper your ability to receive
consideration."

However this would be my third and final time taking the DAT, and I haven't even looked at anything DAT related since I took my test in 2006, so I'm not taking any chances by rushing it this year.

Thats not good news. I also got a 18 on the PAT but my application was just mailed out today. Wonder if its worth sending the supp fees now.
