APPA CAS transcripts

Hi all,
Question about transcripts: does APPA CAS require transcripts sent from ALL graduate and undergraduate schools? The reason I ask is it successfully let me download a transcript request form for my current PhD program, but for neither of my two previous MA programs or undergraduate program.

You only can/need to upload your transcript from your current Phd/PsyD program.

Last year they wanted undergrad transcripts. I think that was an oversight though.

Last year they lost mine. TWICE. They weren't lost in the mail. They were delivered, but weren't linked up with my account, even though they were sent with the correct form. Order early so you have to make sure they're actually uploaded before the deadline.

I am under the impression that we are supposed to send all graduate school transcripts that count towards our degree. For example, I have a MA in psych from another institution and some of the credits transferred over to my PhD program, so I will need to send both transcripts. I need to order mine, but the only thing I did for APPA CAS so far is sign up (I did not start filling out the application or select sites), would it be okay to get those sent over now or do I have to do more with the application?

I'd order them as soon as you can. Once you have an account, they should be able to link them to you. If you wait until you're done with the application, you might not have enough time to reorder if they get lost somewhere along the way.

Hi, all, thanks for your help! I contacted APPA CAS customer support (617) 612-2061 (they were super helpful!), and they told me it's only a graduate transcript from a PhD, PsyD, or EdD that we need. In other words, masters programs and undergraduate programs aren't needed. psychrat, I echo the others--get your transcript request/s out asap. Don't forget to download the transcript request form that will show up under your program on APPA CAS after you enter your school info. Make sure you send/email/upload that with your transcript request to your school, as it helps APPA CAS match your transcript to your file. It's a quick process, but saves a lot of stress (and money) in the end. Also, if you have to rush your transcript order (e.g., priority mail), call 617-612-2899 to get the address and phone number for priority mail receipt, as the one posted on the transcript request form is for a PO Box, which doesn't work for rush deliveries.

I was told that most applications through APPA CAS require only the PhD transcript and not any undergraduate or other graduate transcripts so to only order the one. I checked the requirements for the post docs sites I'm applying to and all but one requested only a PhD transcript. I contacted the one that wanted all graduate level transcripts, explained the situation, and they confirmed that they only wanted the PhD one as well. I would confirm with your sites, rather than APPA CAS, incase they actually have different standards.

hmmm...so even if the MA is in psych with transferred credits? I just get nervous bc some of my core classes (psychopathology, neuro) were taken in my MA program, so there is no note of them on my PhD transcript.

Yeah hmm but my transferred credits are posted on my grad school transcript from my previous MA - they're listed as transferred credits or something with the grades. I would email the sites you're applying to if it isn't clear in their brochures :-\

Did anyone get a message that their application is "awaiting materials," specifically their undergrad transcript, after submitting an app?
