Appalachian????

I was just wondering which states are considered appalachian states. I'm interested in Pikeville and I know they prefer students from the appalachian area. I live in Alabama in what is considered the foothills of the appalachian mountains but didn't know if they really want KY residents.

good post. I dont know whether to go by the first or the second map. Because in one I'm included and the other I'm not. I guess if your on the border your in.
