I agree with the comments above.
All the guys at the interviews I have been on wore suits and it does make you more professional.
Though you don't have to buy a suit and can wear the sports coat at one point in your life you will have to wear one and since you probably will not grow in the next 5 years (unless you like to eat
) it's a good investment.
You don't have to get a $5,000 armani, you can get great deals at 3day suit broker, or Mens wharehouse, or even Nordstrum Rack (that's where I got mine for a great deal!)

Wait a second... nobody told me to wear a suit to the interviews!!!
Although everybody wore it during all my interviews and looked very sharp and conservative (get any ideas?), i chose to wear a white quicksilver t-shirt and red boardshorts with white flowers on it. 😀 and yes, wearing sandles will put the final nail in the coffin (i mean it will most definitely impress your interviewers 😉 ).
Some people said, "Wow... this dude has some guts", while others thought i was an ortho resident 😀
