So I just found out that I have to be out of the country on Match Day this year (February 21). I have 8 interviews in January. Any recommendations for dealing with this situation? Has anyone dealt with this before? I should be able to access email, but cell service will not be an option. Do training directors usually call the morning of Match Day? If so, how bad will it look if they get an answering message that I'm out of the country and will return their call four days later?

They're not going to revoke your match if you don't answer the phone. The match is binding on both sides. You'll get an e-mail about where you match as well. Just e-mail the TD and talk to him the following week. No big deal.

This. Even if they wanted to revoke your offer (which they won't), they're not allowed to, especially if the only reasoning is because you didn't answer their follow-up call. Like WisNeuro said, just email the TD and you should be fine.

Awesome. Thanks to you both. I knew they couldn't revoke the offer or anything, but was still worried about making a bad impression. That said, there's nothing I can do about it, so I'll just have to cope. I really appreciate the reassurance-- This process is pretty anxiety-producing. 🙂
