Is there somebody out there that wouldn't mind taking the time to explain the matching process to me? The whole Internship app process?

I am just a first year, but I want to understand I feel completely lost whenever anyone talks about it. Anyone care to give a fairly detailed explanation/summary?

uhm, MD/PhD student in psychology in Houston? LOL. Not even close.

UT medical school in houston does not have a psychology dept and does not grant clinical phds and Baylor's psychology dept is in Waco and grants psyds.

internship is a process wherein you submit applications to internship sites anywhere in the country. you then are invited to interview at some of those site. You then rank your sites based upon your preferences. they rank their favorite students. a computer system then tells you on a friday if you got matched to an internship site. you then get to sweat it all weekend about where this place could be. on monday you get an email telling you where you are going.

One thing I found out this year from my DCT is how detailed the applications are.

Anyone who is going to go through APPIC needs to start organizing for it in your first year. The most important thing is to look at the APPIC applications and see what info they are looking for. I had no idea in my Master's (done overseas) that I should be keeping info on contact hours per client (only did per practicum), sexual orientation of clients, ethnicity etc...

Anyway, even if you are only first year master's, it will be extremely beneficial for you to look over the 8000 page application to see what records you should be keeping.
