f_w said:I find the correlation between USMLE >235 and lying particularly disturbing.
There was a significant relationship of United States Medical Licensing Examination score with publication misrepresentation, in which those with scores of 235 or greater who listed publications were more than 7 timesmore likely to have inaccurately listed citations (odds ratio, 7.67; 95% confidence interval, 1.12-52.31; p = 0.04).
i see youre point there.f_w said:Well, you would think that the people with the better scores would have less reason to embellish their achievements. But it seems like it is just this group of pathologic multiple choice jockeys that are so insecure and narcicistic that they have to make up papers or move their name up in the author lineup.

As for harvard no i don't happen to know the median or mean but I will tell you I have reviewed applications of those accepted for interview with scores in the just passing range (180's) through the 99th percentile and in the recent era there are those who have been accepted with scores far below what you likely would imagine. For privacy's sake I wont be more specific
Just tell us you don't want to tell us. I would be satisfied, then. Privacy is big in the ivy leagues. It's what kept the Jews out for many years. Not saying you or Harvard are anti-semitic. Just using an example of the meritocracy preserving their sense of purity, that's all.

I know when I'm out trying to causing trouble, I prefer to find a logged-in computer, get on the SDN forums, and do whatever I can to sabotage careers. It's great fun.
Come on now, let's keep things in perspective. It was just a stupid comment on an anonymous message board.Impressions said:and do whatever I can to sabotage careers . . .
