Hello,
Are any applicants who have a masters getting pre-december interviews or are we typically pushed to post december invites? Just about every school (19/20) has not responded back to me and I came out with a 3.9
I recently completed my masters with a 3.9/22Ts and AA and have 3 pre december interviews. When did you submit your app and how did you do on the DAT?
I know it may not feel like it, but it is still early. Honestly, this application cycle in particular has been a bit puzzling since batches were eliminated and schools have access to all the apps at once. Schools can now choose exactly who they want. There do seem to be a lot of people with 6+ interviews but at the end of the day, you can only choose one school so I feel like there'll be a lot more interviews post December. Hopefully you'll start hearing back from more schools soon!
e submitted on 6/5. everything was verified on 6/29. i have a 20AA/21TS/21PAT. judging by what people are saying on here i can only conclude that my dat score is not up to par with those that are getting interviews. i really don’t want to retake the DAT as i feel like my scores are somewhat in the ballpark of decent. my undergrad gpa was a 3.0 and sGPA 3.14. i also feel that my undergraduate gpa is being filtered out by several schools that are electronically sifting out applications under a 3.25. any thoughts??
Is this true?
Wouldn't that make it more difficult to land an interview since there's less emphasis on getting in early to gain an advantage?
But would also mean being selected for interviews actually means the school handpicked you against a larger pool?
I am a reapplicant who was considering doing a masters to bring up my GPA before applying this cycle. However, I was advised by admissions at a few different schools to do a dental hygiene program instead, which I did. They told me to do it for experience, but also because it's technically an undergrad program with 18 credits a semester, so the grades are averaged with my original undergraduate GPA, which has significantly raised my GPA and put me above the cut-off. With a masters program, the grades are kept separate.e submitted on 6/5. everything was verified on 6/29. i have a 20AA/21TS/21PAT. judging by what people are saying on here i can only conclude that my dat score is not up to par with those that are getting interviews. i really don’t want to retake the DAT as i feel like my scores are somewhat in the ballpark of decent. my undergrad gpa was a 3.0 and sGPA 3.14. i also feel that my undergraduate gpa is being filtered out by several schools that are electronically sifting out applications under a 3.25. any thoughts??
Yea, batches were eliminated this cycle (I asked an aadsas customer service rep about it this summer and she said schools have real-time access). I do think there is still some advantage to applying early for the typical applicant because some schools (like nova and midwestern) started sending invites early. But I personally think if you have really high stats it may not matter as much this cycle when you submit.
I agree, if you get an interview it means the school is genuinely interested bc you were handpicked and you should use that opportunity to kill the interview.
Focus on what you're doing, not what others are doing. The only one in control of how well you handle the interview is YOU. Winners focus on winning. Losers focus on winnersi have on at nova coming up so i’m excited for that but it seems like nova is sending a ton of interviews out which doesn’t make me feel all that good
It's super early. I wouldn't stress at this point. Just focus on Nova for now, because worrying about the schools you haven't heard from isn't beneficial to your success.i know i am going to do great in the interview and will have a great chance of getting into nova. however i did the masters with hopes of staying in the tristate area and possibly getting in state tuition. Rutgers, Temple, NYU are the 3 schools i’m shooting for the most and right now it just seems like they brushed off the masters degree i worked so hard to get and do well in.
