Application Advice

Hi all,
Got verified on AMCAS recently and have applied to one school and want to apply to about 25 schools. I'm going to be travelling the first three weeks of July, however, so if I get 20 secondaries on July 1st I'll probably have trouble finishing each in 2 weeks.
Should I wait a couple days to add more schools, or add them now? When do most people expect to receive secondaries?
Thanks.

Start pre-writing them now (you can find them in the 2013-2014 school specific threads). Many secondaries don't change from year to year, and if they do its generally fairly minimal. Also, many secondaries overlap to a degree. It varies from school to school as to when secondaries are sent out, so its very unlikely that you will receive even half of them within the first few weeks. Mine came over a span of three months last cycle (I applied to 15 school).

I think other people's experiences varied, but it made no difference to my applications, that I could see, based on how quickly I got the secondaries in. My LORs did not come in until later in August due to committee letter timeline issues, so I didn't bother submitting secondaries quickly. I submitted them before my letter came in, but a good month after I received most of them. In fact, the two secondaries I got in within a few days of getting them were from the first two schools that rejected me...

I dont't know, SDN says timing matters, my real life peers and personal experience said no....if I were you I would pre write the most important schools - you state schools and your dream schools - and not worry about it if the others sit a little longer.
