Application and August MCAT question

I didn't do well enough on the April MCAT, so I'm taking it again in August. Question is do I submit my application anyways with that little box checked that states I'm taking it in August? Or do I submit after taking the August MCAT? If it takes two months to get the scores back from the August MCAT does that mean that medical schools won't see my scores until October?

Submit it before, they will wait until they receive your August scores to send it out to schools.

I never knew that AMCAS would sit on your application if you checked that box. I was under the impression that the schools would wait to make a decision on your app until they got the new score, but that they got the application at a normal time. Oh well.

As to the OP: you are correct in assuming the score won't get to the schools until October which is the main drawback towards the august mcat and applying in the same year.
