I have somewhat of a dilemma. I have already taken the DAT, and have about a 19AA. I am just finishing a PostBacc program and will finish with about a 3.4gpa. I want to take a Kaplan course to help me prepare for the DAT before taking it again, however the Kaplan courses available in my area don’t end until August. My first question is has anyone taken a Kaplan course and found it helpful in preparing for the DAT. My second question is will it be a problem if I send my application in as soon as possible with my old DAT scores and then send my updated DAT scores to the schools in August, or would it be better to try and prepare on my own for the DAT again and send my new DAT scores with my application. Thanks for any advice that anyone may be able to give me.

1. send it in now, even with your old DAT scores- but put down Future DAT test date. You will thank yourself later

2. Take kaplan, only if you don't have the discipline to study on your own...if you need structure. Because, really its a waste of time and money to have the student teacher repeat the book back at you word for word.

3. Look into the Kaplan Online course for DAT...you can start anytime and work at your own pace. As for me, I just used Schaum's outline of Biology and the Kaplan Blue DAT book available at barnes...rest is history

I plan on doing the class in the future. I like the stucture and classroom atmosphere.
