Application - coursework "credits" vs "semester hours"???

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Q: How do I enter my coursework if my transcript indicates course credits or units (1 course = 1 credit) rather than semester or quarter hours (1 course = 4 semester hours)?

A: Certain institutions grant credit by using a course credit/unit system, in which the majority of courses are equivalent to 1 course credit or unit rather than some number of semester hours or quarter hours. In order for your GPAs to be calculated correctly, you must list your coursework with semester or quarter hours rather than course credits/units, even if your transcript lists course credits/units. Institutions that use the credit/unit system generally have the semester/quarter conversion ratio on the back of the official transcript. For example, 1 credit = 3.33 semester hours or 5 quarter hours. If you can not locate this information on the back of your transcript, you should call your institution's Registrar or Records office.

AADSAS rep actually told me to input the credits instead since there wasn't a key on the back of the official transcript. Don't know who to believe now, which sucks because i actually hit a 3.5 for science if I just count the credits and not the hours. How would they even confirm the hours? Would you need to print out each individual course or something?

me: I contacted my registrar and they informed me that they do not have a conversion chart. I mentioned that the AADSAS requires the number of course hours in order to calculate the GPA. They insisted that all they provide is the number of credits and the letter grade for each course.

them:In that case, your school probably displays the credit hours on your
application and just labels them "units". You can go ahead and calculate your
GPA based on what is on your transcript.

Why it matters for me: chemistry labs and lectures are separate for whatever reason. The labs are 2 credits but have more hours than the lecture. If AADSAS calculates it by the hours, my chem labs were weighted more than my lectures. Physics at my school is 5 credits, but count for six hours.
