Application dates early vs late?

SO i have heard from a bunch of people taht applying in june to be considered an early applicant is teh best way to go. When should the person ideally take the mcat though? April March? I would think may or june is too late because it takes a month for your score to come back and then you would have to apply in august which i think personally is late for allopathic schools especially. What do you guys think?

I think any time March through May is fine as long as you have given yourself enough time to study. I know many people who took it in May and got accepted just fine. June might be pushing it. April is probably best.

depends on how confident you are about your MCAT really.

you can easily get away with taking it in June as long as its in by the time your secondary is turned in

I turned in my primary 7/1 and none of my secondaries were turned in before 8/20 (except Wash U in St. Louis because they have a 1 month deadline), and it's turned out okay for me so far.

Don't worry so much, just get it done promptly. It doesn't have to be day 1, medical schools try to account for later apps in the admission process too.

I think when giving advise we should be careful about using such non-specific statements. Someone may take from it that it is okay to apply in September when they have the ability to appy in June.
To the OP, or anyone else reading out there turn in your application as soon as you can after opening date. June is early and best. If August is approaching you are getting late.

April MCAT worked best for me because i was able to study and also get my results back in time to apply.
