Question:

Is it true that the earliest you can apply through AMCAS is june 5th? Does that mean that one must take the MCAT before then to apply on time? I am planning (iA) to take it on July 13th.

My other question is that if i take it on june 13th, that if i screwed up on that exam, the next time i could probably take it would be in mid-july. Sinc eit would take another 5 weeks to ge tth eresults (around august), would I be screwed on applying to schools on time?

Unless you have taken the test b4 and done poorly, you will have to get scores to submit your application. July 13 scores don't come back until mid august, and submitting in august is pretty late. The general consensus is that the june date is the last time you can take the test and be "on time." With April or May you will get scores before (or soon after) the AAMCAS opening day, and you would be "early". If you submit in mid august you would be verified in mid september. That is what I did, but it is definately not optimal.

Edit- you are an attending? Are you asking so you can advise someone else?

I plan to take the MCAT on June 13th (iA). Once im' done taking the test, to be safe, should I continue studying after i'm done taking the MCAT (say if I found out in July that i did bad)?
