What is the average number of PA programs one would apply to?

I think most people apply to at least three. Using CASPA it is really easy to apply to as many as you want. (I only applied to one, personally.)

A friend of mine just went through the application process for PA schools. She applied to 7 schools via the CASPA (www.caspaonline.org). PA school are just as competitive as medical schools, so she suggests applying to as many as possible.
