Hello . i just need your expert opnion regarding my application for USMLE step1. back in 2010 i forwarded my application for step1 and filled the fee and got a date of exam, but unfortunately i was unable to take the exam. now should i use the same ECFMG# or should i make a new one? plus how will this affect my credentials? will it be counted as an attepmt? I will highly appriciate your help in this regard.

Call them & see how you should proceed. The 189 form (think that's the name of the form) usually lasts for 5 years. So just call them & see what they say. Better to get their expert opinion.

ok thankyou. one thing more, will that be counted as an attempt in my record? will it affect my CV in interviews?

if you didnt sit for the exam and just had a date, then im pretty sure it doesnt count as an attempt. but call to make sure.
