Just wanted to be clear for the upcoming application process. Since the website does not let you create a profile until the 1st of August. Those who has filled an application before, if you could mention whats there (1st & secondary application, personal statement etc)

Please go to the aacpmas website and read the directions

You cannot apply to Podiatry school until August?

I'm not sure if this is what you were getting at or not, but that's a valid point. Not being able to apply until august does sort of reinforce the stigma of "med school reject-school." I mean, I get that if apps opened on June 1st, there would be some confusion because a lot of programs aren't full until some time after that, but August 1st is late enough where some med school applicants have realized that they don't stand a chance on getting in.... Thoughts?

Well... I am under the influence that it is a very similar company if not the same company that receives the applications. I just believe that they have different websites. I called to ask a question to AACPMAS one time, and one of the representatives asked me which program I was applying to prior to answering my question. That being said, I would assume that they have different dates for a couple reasons. Maybe it is because there is a much higher volume of med school applicants than podiatry school thus more time is needed to process. Another possibility may be due to the fact that their employees that process the applications do not want such a high influx of med school and pod school applications at the same time. Just my opinions.

that would be my guess as well.

40,000 applicants > 1,000 applicants

40,000 applicants > 1,000 applicants

That's a true statement, except there are only 9 pod schools, and 125 med schools, so i don't know if it's a sheer volume problem, but rather a ratio...
