This is my first time here...so I hope this thread is ok. Based on what classes I still needed to take and when I had my DAT scheduled I decided to not apply this round for dental school. I'm graduating in April and decided to get in on the first day of applications for the 2017 cycle. The past few days I've started to get really nervous about waiting a year in between and I'm almost considering throwing in an application for the end of this 2016 cycle (I know most schools have sent out acceptance letters as of today). Is there any harm in doing that knowing that I'm most likely not going to get in? I guess I just figured IF I could get in for 2016 now that i've finished my DAT and got more classes under my belt it would be ideal. Need some advice here 🙂 Thanks!

Probably a bad idea. It's expensive to apply and you would only be accepted by the least desirable schools at this point. Also we are past the deadlines for many schools. You should wait until next year so you have a shot at getting into the schools you like best. This is assuming you have an excellent applicant profile.
I agree. Even late-September is considered late. You should get more chances if you apply next cycle.
This is what I learned from this cycle.. Good luck !
