Hey all---

I applied really late last year (Letters of Rec. in by the first of Dec.), and it was made clear to me that I didn't get interviews because of the lateness of my application. I will be reapplying this year, but here's my problem:

I'm going to Europe for three weeks starting July 5th. I will definitely have AACOMAS in by the third of June. Let's say that I get cracking on secondaries the second I get back, and it takes me a week and a half to finish all of them, so I'll be done by the beginning of August. Is this really late to send in secondaries?

Yes. But it's better than December.

Hey, for whatever it's worth, I did not send in my primary application until after the August MCAT results arrived. (I wanted to know my score before I dropped a heap of money on applying.) That being said, my file was not complete until Dec./Jan. I sent secondaries out to three schools and was offered an interview at all three (though one was belated). I interviewed at two, and was accepted to both--declined the third. I would say that as long as you are a competitive applicant, you should be okay sending in your secondaries/LOR in August. I would consider that fairly early in the application cycle. All hope will not be lost... 😉

Hmm, I submitted my primary end of Aug...
Received secondaries from Oct - Dec...
Interviews began in Jan ended in April...

If you are competative it shouldn't pose any problems...
If not have strong statments, LOR's, and extra bits..

If you are concerned forward each school a cv indicating you formal app will follow...it worked out well for me...

Good luck and enjoy Europe...
