What "subject" is a course called "Beginning Typing" BUS E 101? Taken at a community college, 5 credits, grade (not a pass/fail). Is it non-science or remedial? It doesn't seem right to call it "computer science"? I talked to AADSAS cust. serv. rep and she told me that she can't help me with this, I have to decide myself. Any ideas?

I was unpleasantly surprised after talking to several AADSAS cust. serv. reps - I got different answers to the same questions about coursework and grade conversions. One of them even told me that a 100-level course is an upper level course, which I am not going to believe, of course.

I am also confused about the numeric to letter grade conversions. I was told to use GPA conversion table in the instructions, however, when I asked which of the two tables to use on that page the answer was "both depending on a grade" - it can't be right. The second time I called and asked the same question, different rep told me to go by the conversion table on the back of my transcripts (different from each other and different from AADSAS table). It’s a mess. Those of you who’ve done the conversions please help.

Here is a problem if I use the AADSAS conversion tables:

Question 1: The highest grade possible at the university I attended is 4.0. There is no A+ grade, however, there are A-, B+, B-, etc. If I use the conversion table called "AADSAS Grading System Without +/-", the letter grades that would correspond to 4.0 are A+, A, and A-. Which letter grade would I choose?

Question 2: If I use the left conversion table ("AADSAS Grading System With +/-"), the letter grade that would correspond to 4.0 is A, however, the presence of the A+/4.33 option makes it look like I did not receive the highest grade possible for that course. How should this be handled?

Question 3: What would the corresponding letter grades be for 2.7, 3.5, 3.6, 3.7, 3.8, and 3.9 numeric grades (if 4.0 is the highest possible) using both tables? Say, 3.7 - is it an A- or AB? How do I make these conversions using provided tables?

Anyone else having the same problems? Please help! Thanks.

no, you're creating problems for yourself. No one will care what category your bus. class falls under, you really think of yourself as such an important applicant where the adcoms will actually read, much less scrutinize your entire application?? hell no! they'll feed it through a numbers filter machine, take a glance at it, see if you're interview worthy, and then talk to ya and vote in a panel what your status is...

no one cares where your grade classifications go or what "conversion table" you use. I applied in 05, got in, and I still have no clue what a conversion table is. Just put your classes and your grades in, fill out the boxes like the dirty mule you are, and let them sort it out.
