my application status is currently hold even though they have my college transcripts....
i studied abroad my junior year, but the official grades for that year are on my main college transcript -- will they see this and continue, or will they not even look at that transcript until something from the foreign uni. comes through? 😡

I hear that...I'm in a similar situation. I didn't think to order my transcripts until Tuesday, but I faxed requests to both UF and Rome. The grades do show up on my UF transcript, but they're from an outside university and I wanted to be on the safe side. I'm pretty sure if there's a hold on your record, they'll keep it out of circulation until it's removed. 😡

i just called them [ok - so do they have 1 person working over there?? i called at 9:02 and had to wait for like 10 min.] and the guy took the hold off my acct. he said that there was the possibility that if there was a problem with the transcripts that they could put it back on hold but he said that was unlikely. give them a call so they can sort yours out too!!

Now there's wishful thinking. They do have one person on staff, but he's only part time. On a good day he answers 1 or 2 calls.

AMCAS actually had the nerve to tell me that the reason they had repeatedly denied that my transcript for a certain school should count for both undergrad and postbac attendance periods was because the transcript didn't have a dotted line between the two periods on it, and the AMCAS transcript readers don't have time to read any more carefully than that. It wasn't like they apologized for misreading my transcript--they blamed the transcript! 6 weeks it took them to figure this one out, and that was the EASY problem in my file. With another school I had a similar problem, but since the school changed the names of one of its departments between the times I attended, AMCAS was ready to boycott my application altogether and leave me in the "hold" limbo forever. They refuse to do anything that involves actually reading words on a paper in someone's file, it seems.

i think i might have actually gone postal.

see - and people are so concerned with AMCAS going over ECs??? give me a break, they can barely handle the transcripts....

I got application status hold, too, even though they had my transcripts. I think it's normal to have that status for 24-48 hours or so.
