Hi everyone,

I submitted my application last Friday (Sept.18th) and am curious as to how some of you heard back so fast from Temple and NYCPM. Have your test scores and applications already been verified and mailed out? I received e-mails from DMU and Western, but that's about it.

I'm just a little concerned! Thanks!

Hey Dell,

I submitted my application on Saturday, September 12th. So far, only my payment and transcripts have been received. I'm still waiting on my GPA calculations in addition to the delivery of my MCAT scores.

I've received emails from Western and DMU saying that they're aware of my application and they look forward to reviewing it. However, I did not apply to Temple or NY.

Kinda stinks, but playing the waiting game is part of the process I guess.

I'm hoping for some movement by the end of the week.

No worries, my app still shows up with no GPA calculations and no test scores (despite the fact that it was all done the first day the app was open). I guess it takes them a while to update everything. I have only got an invite from Temple and the email from DMU. Nothing else yet.

Just for moral support dell, I'm in the same boat. Just waiting on AACPMAS. The reason people have heard from Temple and NYCPM is that they are offering interviews (at least Temple is) before getting your official, "finalized" application from AACPMAS along with any LOR's you may be sending.

Don't worry, AACPMAS has a couple hundred apps that all came in at once and apparently this is the first year for them using the MCAT service similar to what med schools have been using where the testing service makes it available on a web portal and AACPMAS has to find yours, pull it off, and add it to your app. At least that's what was explained to me when I called a week back to check on my app.

I remember the days of worrying after a week
It is still September. You will be fine.
If you are so type A you can't wait (just wait till you start med school and see how many people are just like you) call and check in.
I will say, 10 buisness days is probably what you should give them before worrying, especially at first when they are slammed.

what happens if the transcripts reach the app service before it's submitted?

Can anybody tell me what happens if the central app service gets your transcripts before you submitted the actual application. I'm crazy worried that they are gonna throw away my transcripts since I haven't submitted my application

As far as I know they take everything that has your name stamped on it and place it in a folder, then when stuff comes in they place it in that folder until everything is completed. You can call and ask tho.

This has been discussed already. But for anyone who is wondering how the app process works, it's pretty simple: Submit everything you have completed to the appropriate people as soon as you can. ie any transcripts should go to the address AACPMAS gives you ASAP. Any LOR's should be submitted to the school's where you plan to apply ASAP. Official test scores (MCAT, DAT) should be released to AACPMAS ASAP.

What happens is AACPMAS waits to get your official transcript then checks it against the courses you list on the app. They make sure everything is accurate, then calculate your GPA. They will not mail your application to your designated programs until they have everything requested in the app and you have e-submitted the app and made the appropriate payments to AACPMAS. Once that is done the schools will get your app and depending on the program, you will start getting interview invites, or you will be notified that admissions counselor X has been assigned to your app and they need the remaining materials (LOR's) before they can process your app and hopefully invite you to interview.

If I'm not understanding the question/problem then I'm sorry, make it a little more specific and I'd more than happy to try again.
