hello all,

my applications were mailed out to schools by aadsas about 2 weeks ago. i applied very early and i've received emails from a bunch of schools saying they've gotten my application, so i know i'm in an early batch.

the thing is, my DAT isn't until August 10th, but i am thinking of postponing it another week to August 17th. that'll give me 4 solid weeks to prepare from this coming monday and i'd feel a hell of a lot better with that one extra week than just having 3 weeks to prepare. (i am taking a kaplan course right now and we still have to over the orgo II, rc 2, qr 2, so we're absorbing tons of information). so my question is this: is august 17th too late to take the DAT even though my apps are already in?

Your application without DAT scores doesn't really mean anything, no matter how early they've received it. They won't make any decisions about your application until they see your scores. If you need an additional week to perform better on the DAT, then take it. Taking the exam a week later but coming out of it with higher scores is always better than rushing it and messing up the whole thing.
