Arizona states to send Official DAT scores at the same time you send AADSAS materials. But what if you submitted your AADSAS application in mid-June but plan on taking the DAT during August? Is that ok? 😕

Yes that is fine, but they won't look at your application until your DAT scores are submitted.

got ya 👍

does that mean that you're not considered an early applicant at that school then?

an applicant's application will be reviewed by schools when the complete application including DAT scores, LOR's etc is received by the school. I don't know what you mean by "early applicant" but having your application complete by the end of August is still fairly early, so I wouldn't stress out over it.

I'm confused now.... What is the point of submitting AADSAS early (sometime in June) if you're going to take the DAT kinda late (sometime in August)? You said that they won't review ur application until they receive all of your material...

Should I still submit my AADSAS sometime in June even though I'm sure I won't take the DAT until August?

Ideally, an applicant would have taken the DAT already by the time he/she submits the AADSAS application so applying the earlier, the better. In your case, if you could submit your application on a later date such that it would arrive at the dental schools at the same time your DAT scores do, it would not make a difference had you submitted your application sooner.

The best thing you can do is submit your application now, so that AADSAS can process it and if there are any problems with your application, they can be addressed. That way the only thing you have left to do is get your scores in.
