Hey Guys,

Questions:

1)Is it too late now to apply? I was thinking I can submit my AACOMAS application in by December 2013( which was the earliest deadline according to their book) but I see a lot of people applying much earlier, in order to get a spot . . . so your guys' input would be great!

2) Also for some of the schools, they say you need 6 hours of English( 2 of the 3 credit courses I think). Do you know if the courses have to be directly administered by the English department? For example, if I have taken extra humanities or if I had taken extra "reading" courses( administered by College of Education) would those count as English credits?

3) Suppose I need to take an extra English class . . .would you say that I need to delay my application by 1 more year?

Thanks!

1. It's not too late to apply now, but December 2013 is getting a little iffy. If you have great stats, applying in December is less risky.

2. Call the schools you are apply to and ask. If the course you took was some type of writing-intensive course where you did many composition revisions, then it may work. But to be sure, call the individual schools and ask!

3. You won't have to delay your application. You can take an English course in the spring or even during the summer. Most schools just require that you complete all the prereqs prior to matriculation.

1) If you still want to apply DO IT NOW. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL DECEMBER. You will most likely just be wasting your time and a lot of money. Interviews have already started, so spots are already being filled and at least half of the classes for FALL 2014 will be filled at that point if not more so. Unless you have super stellar stats, the end of the application cycle is not worth it and just wait.

2) That depends on the school. Some will accept certain classes that have a lot of writing included, others will accept AP or IB credit as long as it appears on your college transcripts through institution you attend. You would have to find out for each school you are considering apply to.

3) If you need the extra English you wouldn't need to delay, just make sure you apply to schools that are okay with you not having all prereqs complete. For those schools as long as it says you will be taking it on your transcripts then they SHOULD accept the credit. Just make sure to pass.

I hope I was able to help!
