I currently do not have mcat scores and will have them this summer. Assuming I'm verified, is there any point in submitting my application to a school that screens mcat scores before giving out secondaries?

What would be the advantages? As far as I can see, it seems identical to waiting for my scores to come back and applying then.

If you wait to apply it may take longer for your application to be verified. If you apply now your primary will be on hold at schools that screen for the MCAT until you get the score. So the benefit of applying now is not having to have your application even more delayed because the verification process takes longer. Good luck!

Thanks for the info! But I was wondering if its worth it if I'm already verified. In that case, what would you say? Is there any advantage?

Is this assuming that you have had your application verified but not selected any schools? If so then yes, it would be worth it. I believe schools will simply put your app on hold until they received your MCAT scores, at which then they will begin the review process. The longer you wait to submit your verified app to the schools, the more likely it will be filled. But from the information I have received through SDN, waiting to submit your AACOMAS app until August would be fine. So at your personal opinion, if you feel comfortable applying after your scores come in so that you have the whole package than I'd sa go for it!

Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!

Going off this...I'm taking my MCAT this summer as well but also taking one more pre-req (which would end around the beginning of august). Obviously schools won't look at my app without an MCAT and without a pre-req, so is it still worth just putting down that I plan on taking this class this summer, getting verified at schools, and sending scores in later?

Most schools (if not all schools) will look at your app without a prereq. If you get accepted, they expect you to have the prereq complete before the first day of med school classes.
