Applications to SCCO

Hi; I got a letter from SCCO to complete an academic record form to send them. After completing it, it turns out my prerequsite gpa ends up right around a 3.0, but i kinda feel like that doesnt really represent my academic work. My GPA for my major is about .5 higher, which is pretty significant, and also i got a lot of credits from high school which dont get figured into my gpa. do you think it would be inappropriate to include a letter to the committee with this type of information??
