hahah anyone else working on their APPLICATIONS????

oh man. time for me to complain again! haha.
but seriously though guys? i am totally flustered and everything doing my applications. personal statements are alright, but totally takes up so much time especially when you have class and other things to do. that, is okay. but recommendations...OH recommendations, is such a crazy task. professors have their own little pet peeves, schedules, and its so hard to predict how long they need to write the recs! you can't keep bugging them.. because who knows what they are going to add on to the recs. (lol) but you dont want to have a late application sent to the schools either since they are like...all on rolling admission. plus i spend forever making envelopes and make sure each professor gets to sent letters to the right school, and they just tell me "oh no, i will do it through the career center rec service..." so not only will you have to pay more per each letter you sent through career service, but you did all those paper work for nothing, AND you are all confused as to what to do with the forms they need to fill out for you. oh yes, transcripts, i took courses in other cc during high school, they want it. i went studying abroad, they want that too, i took a summer course else where...they want that as well. soooo overwhelming!!!
sigh. every school has their own requirements and own guidelines... must be aware not to do annnnnything wrong. or to sent to the wrong schools.

so i just want to say...
AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.....
please yell with me if your frustrated with apps right now too! Har har har!
lets have a support group thread and keep each other happy. (or just, stay alive with all these stuff to do. BOO!):scared:

just like the pre-OAT stress, I watch this video for application stress and man have I've been listening to this song practically on repeat. Only thing that helps me relax a bit 🙂.

Thanks Richard for the video! It was too cute 🙂

your so right cherryberrymint!!! i totally feel ya on every element! then you got your transcript fees, then the application fees, then yadda yadda yadda... hahah but its ok! Dont worry, we will all be happy when its alll over =D

Yes Cherryberrymint I feel your pain.

Finding professors to write reference letters has been the most difficult part of my application process, for me at least. But think about it this way - professors are approached by graduating students every year for reference letters! They probably have a huge bank of previously written reference letters that they can refer to and give you a good letter even if they do not know you all that well. I chose professors that I took 2 courses with. I sent these 2 professors an email with information about myself on things that could be used in a reference letter and they were able to come up with letters for me (I haven't read the letters of course, so I don't know exactly how good they made me sound, but I'm feeling positive - a professor wouldn't go out of his/her way to ruin your future if you are a good student). Both of my profs asked me when I needed the letter by so I just told them end of September/beginning of October which gave them 3 weeks or so. But then both of them forgot so I just emailed them to "touch base" to see when they think the letters would be ready by, and it turns out one just forgot to print them and I got them the next day, and the other was still waiting for me to tell him exactly when I wanted them by so I'm getting them on Monday!

I am applying to UCBSO, SUNY and Waterloo, and I am sending each school a complete package of transcripts and letters because I figure this is the least stressful and most organized way to go about making sure the school has recieved and doesn't LOSE your documents. UCBSO requests that your all your documents be sent in one complete package but SUNY asks that the documents be mailed directly from the recommender or the school - but I don't care. I am sending SUNY original sealed transcripts and letters with the recommenders signature across the seal and if SUNY doesn't like that the documents did not come from the recommender or school I'll deal with it later, at least they'll recieve everything they need and be able to review my application faster (hopefully).

Hopefully this helps a little, we're all in the same boat!! Good luck!

hey! just a tip from my hell of applying...is that just send everything out to the schools, and if they are just missing a rec letter they will still review your application. I had a really hard time getting my rec letters on time too, but i just sent everything to each school as it was completed, and the schools still reviewed my app...and then when they recieved my final rec letter, like that same day i recieved emails about interviews! so dont be stressed, just send stuff as you get it that way they have almost everything and will review it! but gluck and dont be stressed! 🙂
