Applied this cycle, MCAT Advise

I have applied to 26 DO schools for this cycle (25-26) with a cGPA 3.73, sGPA 3.5, 3000+ hours of clinical care, 200+ meaningful volunteer hours, 60 hours shadowing, very focused mission and passion for health education etc. I applied early and have submitted my secondaries. The issue is my MCAT was a 499 (121/127/124/127). I was averaging a 510 on my FLs, but on test day I panicked during C/P and it really tanked me. I am wondering if y'all would advise me retaking the MCAT in January and sending it as an update to the DO schools i've applied to? Do I have any shot with a 121 C/P if I dont retake? Thank you so much!!

Why didn't you void the exam?

What made you panic? Was this a one time thing, as I'm worried about this happening in med schools or Boards.

Unfortunately, no med school is obliged to wait for a new MCAT score, and you're likely to get evaluated base dupon your 499 score. You're be rejected at my school and a fair number of others.

There are a fair number of others that will consider you though!

Just avoid the for-profits and new schools that have yet to graduate a class.

It was a one time thing, I decided not to void because I felt alright about every section after C/P. I just didn't think C/P went as bad as a 121 🙁. Are there any schools you'd recommend that might give me a shot or re-evaluate me with a higher MCAT once I send the update?

Not without an MCAT score

Retaking it in August or September would be more effective in salvaging your chances for this admissions cycle. By January schools looking for a better score would have ruled you out.
