I did a search but wasn't narrowing in on my exact question. Any advice would be great.

I'll be taking my MCAT on May 21, which means I won't get my scores until June 21st-ish. I wasn't planning on applying until I see my scores but a few classmates have said I absolutely should apply to AACOMAS (I'm applying DO only) on the first available day and then my score will just be updated when they are released?

Is this advisable? Is there a down side to applying without my MCAT score?

One way to do this is pick one school you are not very interested in attending and apply to only that one school ASAP. This will get your transcripts verified and get your application complete, once you get your MCAT scores back you add all the other schools.

Be forewarned, you may fall in love with the school you used as your "throw away" school, as this happened to me and I nearly ended up at said school.

👍

It takes a while to be verified especially if you wait until later in the cycle (I applied very late in September and took 4-6 weeks). Pick one school and send your stuff in while you wait!

However, don't feel rushed to submit your stuff asap. Make sure you feel good about your PS and the rest of the info you're providing (EC's etc).

You could submit your app the same day you recieve your MCAT score and that would still be considered early in the process (June).

:luck:
