Hi All,

Sorry if this thread doesn't belong here, but I was wondering if anyone can help. I have to re-take the MCAT either July or August, but I still want to apply this year. If i re-take at the end of July, wait for my scores, and submit in september or end of august ....does that SEVERELY harm my chances of getting in as opposed to if I had submitted this past week? I want to make a significant improvement in my score since this is my second time around so I'm not sure if I should wait or not....any ideas?

If you have a subpar application, applying in September will severely impair your chances. If you have a great application, you will be impaired only mildly.

Sort of tough. I think if you could take the late july MCAT do that. Then you can possible get and do your secondaries by mid august. Taking the august MCAT would mean you could get the secondaries done by early september at the earliest.

I hope apply based on other things, also. Did you improve your GPA and/or EC's compared to your last application cycle?

Taking the MCAT in late July and early august isn't all doom and gloom. go ahead and apply.
